As a domestic relations attorney,
Valerie represents clients by negotiating settlements or litigating
cases in court, approaching family transitions with
the goal of proceeding as amicably as possible. When negotiations
fail, however, Valerie is comfortable serving as a zealous advocate
within the court system. She works with clients who get along
well with their spouses and need guidance on legal issues,
and also represents individuals who have abusive, intractable,
and selfish partners. Valerie has tried numerous cases and settled
many more. Despite the number of divorce and other family
law matters that she has handled, Valerie considers each and every
new case to be unique and deserving of individual attention.
As an attorney,
Valerie always searchs for a creative solution. Sometimes this
involves seeking Court orders and other times it involves
long talks with her client or opposing counsel to develop
fair settlement offers that take into consideration the
needs of all concerned parties. At all times, Valerie is very
child-focused, and encourages her clients to keep their children's
needs at the forefront when considering various legal options.
